The LGBTQ+ Pride Rainbow Cylinder Cremation Urn Necklace ain't just a fancy piece of jewelry. It's like, a symbol of love, pride, and a life that was really lived, you know? The pendant's this cool ribbed column thing, and each part's got a different rainbow color. Its about showing how different and united the LGBTQ+ community is. Its a way to keep someone close, like there spirit is still as bright as the colors they loved when they were alive.
For Rosa and Jen, this necklace became kinda like a story of there love that lasted for, like, forever...
Rosa and Jen's Story
Rosa and Jen met way back in '62 at this hush-hush meetup for "ladies who liked ladies" in there small Midwest town. Rosa was this lively teacher, and Jen was this shy librarian. Even though it was super hard back then, they fell for each other hard, and built this amazing life that lasted, like, forever.
During the 60s and 70s, they were sorta secret activists. They went to the first pride marches, cheered when they heard about Stonewall, and slowly told people they trusted that they were together. As things got better, they could be more open. By the 80s, everyone just knew them as the sweet couple down the street, but they were also pretty big deals in the local LGBTQ+ scene.
When the 90s and 2000s rolled around, Rosa and Jen were like the cool grandmas for all the young LGBTQ+ kids in town. They always had people over for Sunday dinner. Rosa made this pot roast that was to die for, and Jen would give out advice while serving her homemade apple pie. They were so happy every time something good happened, like when gay marriage became legal or when they saw rainbow flags in shop windows.
Rosa used to say stuff like, "We've come a long way, honey, but we ain't done yet." She got alot of people fired up to keep fighting for everyone to be treated fair.
When they got older, Rosa and Jen were still so in love. You'd see them holding hands in the park or sharing ice cream on hot days. When Rosa died at 89, she left behind this amazing story of love, standing up for whats right, and being proud of who you are.
After Rosa was gone, Jen got this LGBTQ+ Pride Rainbow Cylinder necklace. She put some of Rosa's ashes in it, and it made her feel kinda peaceful. Each color on the necklace made her think of something special from there life - like the red reminded her of how Rosa loved teaching, the orange was like the sunsets on there first trip together, yellow was for the flowers Rosa planted, green for there first kiss in the park, blue for the dresses they wore when they had a commitment ceremony, and purple for the lavender Rosa put in there drawers.
Now Jen's 87, and when she wears the necklace, its like Rosa's still with her. At community stuff, or LGBTQ+ youth meetings, or just doing everyday things, Jen touches the necklace and feels stronger. Its not just jewelry, its like, a symbol of how they loved each other and were proud for more than 60 years, and all the people they helped along the way.
At the last pride parade, Jen was in this car all decked out with rainbow flags, wearing the necklace and waving at everyone. When she heard Rosa's favorite songs playing, it felt like Rosa was right there with her, there love and all they did for the community still going strong in every color of that rainbow cylinder.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cremation Jewelry
Helpful Information
What Is Cremation Jewelry?
What Is Cremation Jewelry?
Cremation jewelry is a special type of jewelry designed to hold a small portion of a loved one’s cremated ashes (or another keepsake) inside a hidden compartment
It comes in many forms – necklaces, bracelets, keychains, rings, even earrings – often resembling ordinary jewelry on the outside.
Many people find comfort in wearing these pieces, as it allows them to keep their loved one close to their heart wherever they go. In essence, it’s like a tiny wearable urn or locket that serves as a beautiful, tangible memorial.
What Can I Place Inside Cremation Jewelry – is It Only For Ashes?
What Can I Place Inside Cremation Jewelry – is It Only For Ashes?
Ashes are the most common thing kept in cremation jewelry, but they’re not the only option. You can also place other small, meaningful mementos inside. Many people include a lock of hair, a tiny piece of fabric (for example, from a loved one’s clothing), or even a small amount of soil or sand from a cherished place.
Ultimately, it’s up to you – anything small and precious that reminds you of your loved one can be kept in the jewelry’s chamber. (Some have even saved pet fur or whiskers as a remembrance. The idea is to hold something personally significant, keeping that memory close at all times.
How Much Ashes Does Cremation Jewelry Hold?
How Much Ashes Does Cremation Jewelry Hold?
Cremation jewelry is meant to hold only a small portion of ashes – a symbolic amount rather than all of the remains. Most pieces can accommodate about a teaspoon or less of ashes in the inner chamber.
In practical terms, this is just a pinch of ashes (often referred to as “a pinch” or roughly half a cubic inch). This amount is enough to keep a meaningful part of your loved one with you, while the rest of the ashes can remain in a traditional urn or be scattered elsewhere according to your wishes.
Can I Get My Cremation Jewelry Engraved or Personalized?
Can I Get My Cremation Jewelry Engraved or Personalized?
Yes, we offer custom engraving on many of our pieces. Personalizing your cremation jewelry with an engraving – like your loved one’s name, initials, a special date, or a short message – can make it even more meaningful.
This is typically done on a flat surface of the pendant or sometimes on the back. When you order, look for an engraving option on the product page, or you can contact us about adding engraving to your item. Engraving may add a few days to the processing time for your order (since it’s a custom service)
(Note: Because engraved pieces are custom-made just for you, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on jewelry once it has been engraved)
Can I Use Cremation Jewelry For My Pet’s Ashes?
Can I Use Cremation Jewelry For My Pet’s Ashes?
Absolutely. Cremation jewelry isn’t only for human ashes – it can also be used to memorialize a beloved pet. In fact, many people find comfort in wearing a pendant or keychain with their dog’s or cat’s ashes, for example, to keep that companionship close even after their pet has passed.
Our cremation jewelry works the same way for pet ashes as it does for human ashes. You can fill the piece with a small portion of your pet’s ashes, or even a few strands of fur or a whisker as a memento.

Are The Ashes Secure Inside The Jewelry? Will It Ever Open or Leak?
Are The Ashes Secure Inside The Jewelry? Will It Ever Open or Leak?
Yes – our cremation jewelry is designed to keep the contents completely secure. Each piece uses a precision screw-top compartment (often with a rubber gasket or seal) to hold ashes safely.
When you fill the chamber and tighten the screw properly (especially if you add a small dab of cremation jewelry sealant as mentioned above), it creates a reliable seal that prevents any accidental opening or leakage
In other words, the ashes will remain safely inside even with daily wear. We understand how precious those remains are, so we build our jewelry to give you peace of mind – you can wear it with confidence that your loved one’s ashes are protected.
Will My Cremation Jewelry Rust or Tarnish Over Time? What Is It Made Of?
Will My Cremation Jewelry Rust or Tarnish Over Time? What Is It Made Of?
No – our cremation jewelry is crafted from high-quality materials and will not rust or tarnish over time
The majority of our pieces are made from medical-grade 316L stainless steel, a metal known for its exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
This means you can wear it every day without worrying about it rusting, flaking, or fading. (Our stainless steel is also hypoallergenic, so it’s safe for those with sensitive skin.
In addition to stainless steel, we also offer designs in premium materials like solid .925 sterling silver and we plan to introduce white gold options soon. All of these materials are chosen to stand the test of time.
Keep in mind that sterling silver pieces might develop slight tarnish over extended periods (as sterling naturally does), but this can be easily polished off to restore its shine.
Can I Wear My Cremation Jewelry In The Shower or While Swimming? Is It Waterproof?
Can I Wear My Cremation Jewelry In The Shower or While Swimming? Is It Waterproof?
It’s generally not recommended to wear your cremation jewelry while swimming, bathing, or immersing it in water for extended periods.
While our stainless steel pieces are highly water-resistant and won’t rust, water (especially chlorinated pool water or salty ocean water) can be harsh on any jewelry over time – it may cause deterioration of finishes or could potentially weaken any sealant around the compartment.
Additionally, wearing a necklace or bracelet in the water comes with the risk of losing it if a chain were to snag or break; losing such a precious item would be heartbreaking.
Occasional contact with water is generally okay – for example, if you get caught in the rain or splashed while washing your hands, it should not cause harm as long as you dry the piece thoroughly afterward.

Can I Wear Cremation Jewelry When Flying or Going Through Airport Security?
Can I Wear Cremation Jewelry When Flying or Going Through Airport Security?
Yes. You are allowed to wear cremation jewelry during flights and through airport security – the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) does not prohibit it on board.
In fact, many people choose to travel with their memorial jewelry so their loved one’s memory accompanies them everywhere. When you go through the TSA security checkpoint, be aware that you’ll likely need to remove any metal jewelry (including cremation necklaces, bracelets, etc.) as you go through the metal detector or body scanner

How Do I Care For and Clean My Cremation Jewelry?
How Do I Care For and Clean My Cremation Jewelry?
Taking care of your cremation jewelry will ensure it remains as beautiful as the memories it represents. Here are some simple care tips:
- Cleaning: To clean the piece, gently polish it with a soft, lint-free cloth. This will remove oils and dirt and keep it shiny. Avoid using any harsh chemicals, silver dips, or abrasive cleaners on the jewelry. Abrasive substances can scratch metals or damage any plating or protective finish. Mild soap and water can be used for a light cleaning if needed (for stainless steel or gold), but make sure to dry the piece completely afterward.
- Wear & Storage: It’s best to remove your cremation jewelry before any activity that might expose it to excessive moisture, chemicals, or rough handling. For example, take it off before swimming, bathing, heavy exercise, or using cleaning chemicals. Although everyday perspiration and oils won’t harm stainless steel, chlorine or saltwater (and even perfume or hairspray on silver pieces) can dull or tarnish jewelry over time. When you’re not wearing it, store your piece in a cool, dry place – ideally in a jewelry box.
- Inspection: It’s a good idea to periodically check the jewelry’s screw or closure to ensure it remains tight. If you ever notice it loosening, you can reapply a tiny bit of jewelry adhesive to reinforce the seal. Also check the condition of any chain or bracelet to ensure it’s secure. With proper care, your cremation jewelry will stay in excellent condition for forever to come, preserving your loved one’s memory in a lasting way.
